<image:title>About - Visual storytelling is my cup of tea.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m Lumi Hannele Kauppinen, a documentary photographer, videographer, and researcher committed to driving positive change. My work moves between visual journalism, research, and advocacy — often in collaboration with NGOs — and focuses on nonhuman animal lives, environmental questions, and social justice. I hold an M.A. in Visual Journalism from Tampere University and a B.A. in Film Art from Turku University of Applied Sciences. Currently, I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Journalism at Tampere University. My research examines how news media represent nonhuman animals used in food production and explores alternative ways of seeing and representing their lives. Based in Helsinki, Finland, I’m available for photo and video assignments and open to international collaborations. If my work resonates with you, drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you! profile photo: Elias Lahtinen</image:caption>
